What is in a Name?

"Teamwork And Understanding Equals Results"

The origination of the name TAUER came from Martin A. Posthauer and David R. Clements in December 1999. Marty and Dave wanted something different yet appropriate for the new consulting company they were forming. At one point "Posthaner and Associates" was considered as a name but was thought to be too long and difficult. "Post" and "Tower" were also considered but were already being used by other companies. Finally, after weeks of discussion, "TAUER" was decided to be different.  It was not until about a week after agreeing to the name when David's wife, Caryn, created the acronym Teamwork And Understanding Equals Results did we establish and recognize the appropriateness of the name.

Caryn captured the culture and focus of our company within the very letters chosen to create the name. The name became to the partners at Tauer Consulting Company, Inc. a symbol of what we believe to be the true destiny of our company. What separate individuals, even with a great desire to establish a meaningful name, could not do alone was easily accomplished through teamwork.  So that's what is in our name!
